MY REVIEW

Monsters are real.

When I was five years old, I watched my mother take her last breath—a breath three monsters stole from her.

I never chose this life. My father says it’s my birthright, but all I see is a curse. It’s because of the Kelly name my mum was slain by the Doyles—our enemies in Dublin, the fellas livin’ on borrowed time.

All of Belfast fears my family, especially me. I’m Puck Kelly, otherwise known as Punky; the lad ye don’t want to double cross.

I don’t do feelings or emotions. I never have…until she walks into my world.

Babydoll is a liar and a thief, but I can’t stay away. We both thrive in the darkness because that’s where our demons can play.

No word af a lie, sixteen years later, those monsters still haunt my dreams. But every monster is scared of somethin’…and that somethin’ is me.

No more hiding in the shadows because I’m huntin’ youse.

Run, wee monsters, run.

The Fight In Us by Becca Steele–New Release

The Fight In Us by Becca Steele is here!

And it’s FREE in Kindle Unlimited!

My Review

Blurb:

Lust. Mystery. Betrayal.

Weston Cavendish. My brother’s best friend. I’d perfected the art of pretending that I didn’t want him, that he didn’t affect me every time he was near.
Or so I thought.
When his world comes crashing down, I’m the one he turns to, and I can’t deny my feelings any longer.
I know there’s something between us.
Until he finds out that I’ve been hiding things from him, too.
Broken and betrayed, can we pick up the pieces and work together to expose the truth?
The odds are stacked against us.
But I won’t give up without a fight.

While TFIU is a standalone, it’s best enjoyed after reading the previous 3 books in the series. If you haven’t read them yet, they’re all available on Amazon and free in Kindle Unlimited:

The Fight In Us by Becca Steele–Review

Weston. Weston, Weston, Weston. I have been so curious about the ‘little brother’ in the group. Well, little brother is no longer little. Weston is just a boy (or rather a man), who is trying to make his father proud, while doing the one thing he is good at. Computers. He is the computer whiz in this group.

Besides my own curiosity to know more, I wasn’t sure what I was exactly expecting. It was quickly into the read that I realized I wanted every single possible word she could give on Weston. I may have been curious, but I grew to love this unsure, yet cocky, personality on over drive, and a heart as big as Texas to the loved ones he cares about.

Becca has written this book effortlessly and flawlessly. She gave our leads, Weston and Lena, a very emotional roller coaster storyline that readers can relate too. Ms. Steele gave us epilogue whores a chance to see more into their ‘family unit’. The unit consisting of Cade, Cassius, Z, Weston, Lena and of course, Winter. Since this book was so beautifully written, you will get lost in it and next thing you know, you’re two chapters from the end. I DID NOT want it end.

“Lena Drummond. The girl I never allowed myself to think about. The one single girl who was completely out of limits. My best friend’s sister.”

The Fight in Us is dynamic, emotional, alluring, heartbreaking, eye-opening, mysterious, and full of angst. Weston and Lena are the sole reason you should read this book. Although, getting more information on your favorite couple, Cade, and Snowflake, along with Cass and Z, is the real treat.

“You’re beautiful. Inside and out. So wild and untamed, so fucking far out of my league that I’m just waiting for you to come to your senses.”

Thy Kingdom Come by Monica James–Review

Please explain to me what I just read, because there was Punky, Babydoll, Ireland, Catholic vs Protestant, mafias, and secrets, lies and truth that Monica so masterfully places on the page to create this well executed story, but WHOA, REALLY?! Thy Kingdom Come is an incredibly unique story concept. It will jump out at you and just sucks your soul attaching itself to you like an octopus never letting go until the end and even then, you will always question what you read.

Ok, I am getting slightly ahead of myself. Thy Kingdom Come is about Puck Kelly and his ever changing and slightly distrustful mafia world in the northern part of Ireland. There are territorial and religious turf wars and Puck is smack dab in the middle of it with a plan to be executed for the Kelly bloodline and yet, Punky had an additional nefarious plan of his own.

“ To the outside world. I look relatively “normal” but it’s a whole different story on the inside. On the inside, all I can think about is revenge and blood.”

Babydoll. Nobody is prepared for Babydoll. What starts as an innocent broken down bike, quickly flips the script between Puck and Babydoll. Let’s face it, from the outside, BD is nothing more than a liar, cheat, and thief, but according to Puck there is something about her. What he does not know is, who is babydoll? What’s her last name? What’s her agenda? And how is that agenda going to affect everyone?

For me, Puck ‘Punky’ Kelly is the star of this book, but Babydoll sure has an extensive background and that history fills in the scene perfectly to steal/match Punky. Punky’s story is ingrained with pain, torture, angst, and sadness. There is so much sadness, which we get from the first word in the Prologue.

“Whatever ya see, whatever ya hear, I want ya to know it’s not real because yer not really. here.”

I still have their story whipping through my brain. The angst, sorrow, utter rage, the sparks that flew as they realized there is come sort of connection between them, the trust-distrust-and back to trust was a whole other arc that Monica flew at us. Thy Kingdom Come is book one with book two coming soon.

Monica is always fundamentally sound when writing her plotlines and overall story arc for her characters and Thy Kingdom Come is a true representation of that. Puck will forever have a spot in my heart, and I cannot wait to see what happens next for Puck and Babydoll!

Sancte Diaboli (book 1) by Amo Jones

Sancte Diaboli was ingrained into my brain and I could not wait to read it. This was
Bran Bran’s book with TEKC. He was back in all his quietness, aloofness, and piercing’s.

So, I have a question. How many of you are into puzzles? I’m thinking the 5,000 pieces and maybe higher. Sancte Diaboli is akin to doing a mammoth puzzle with small pieces. Amo is so good at her writing, that she inadvertently will drop those teeny tiny breadcrumbs throughout the whole book. The funny thing is these little nuggets will never directly lead you to the ending but keep you on the path that you need to focus on. She is so good at this that she’s bad😈. It’s wicked torture to keep us on the hook for the next book, but I swear she loves it.

Now, I knew before going in that there was a cliffhanger, so I thought I was semi-prepared. Well, thank goodness I wasn’t betting money over the cliffhanger, because all I could think of was, huh…whoa…OMFG! So much so that I read the ending four times and I was still shook!! That cliffhanger, you will never see coming! I had a SERIOUS BOOK HANGOVER for four days afterward. I was scheduled to start another book, but I couldn’t do it! I kept wandering around and replaying all the scenarios and situations in my head.

Readers have dubbed Amo as ‘Queen’ for a reason. She is a master at her craft. I was amazed, stunned, flabbergasted, and knocked completely off my axis after reading Sancte Diaboli. How does she take such simple individual words, yet meld them together perfectly to form an utterly amazing, multi-layered storyline with specific plot points, timelines, and consistent writing style? I don’t know, but I will gladly step forward to read any book she writes!! Congratulations, Queen Amo! Another book was exceedingly written!

***Side note: Ms. Jones is a dark romance writer!!! So, if this scares you, Sancte Diablo my not be for you, but if you’re up for it, you might learn a thing or two about ladders!***
