New Release with Review: Seven Minutes ’till Midnight by Sunniva Dee

**(Mind Blown) ** Please give me a few moments to re-assemble my thoughts within my brain.  (1, 2, 3…10).

Ok, I think I’m good now. Have you ever experienced that feeling of complete weightlessness, like every bit of air in your lungs has left them leaving you suspended in time? That feeling of floating, not knowing where your next breath is coming from and all time stands still? Yep, I didn’t think I’d ever experience that in my lifetime either, however, following Seven Minutes ‘till Midnight that’s how I felt. I, very cautiously put my kindle down (despite me wanting to throw it repeatedly) and just absorbed everything I have read. OMG, y’all, this book is EVERYTHING!!

I never knew that I needed a ‘Troy’ in my life, but I immediately want to put my order in for one of my very own. From his tri-colored dreads to his passion in playing the drums, I need everything about this man! (🙋🏻‍♀️Have you seen the cover model? Anybody have a name for that man with gorgeous eyes?👀)

Troy Armstrong is a mountain of man. He is tortured yet is epically sweet with a beautiful soul. There is so much understanding and love behind the intensity of those safari green eyes. Eyes that are luminescent and make a person feel as if he is probing your soul. Troy is kind and dedicated about his endeavors. One of which is his drumming.

Aishe Xodyar is a mid-20’s gypsy girl, who was the ‘merch girl’ for Clown Irruption the previous summer and has made friends with the band and their wives/girlfriends. She is a spitfire and will dole out the verbal lashings and comebacks before you can blink. Despite being this outgoing girl with a fiery personality, she isn’t very keen on having the attention on her. Aishe has left her gypsy family to come to America. She believes in her gypsy heritage and customs immensely and hopes that she has outrun some of them in the US. (This becomes an important concept between Aishe and Troy).

‘Troy is the air I breathe and the godd*amn devil I want to stomp out like a cigarette under my shoe.’

I am always in awe at the worlds and storylines that Sunniva creates. She has a way of creating deeply thought out fictional stories that suck you in. I don’t know how she does it, but it is a breath of fresh air. Her ability to create characters that are rich, full-bodied and in tune with multiple cultural/social/ethnic diversities is stunning and completely out of this world. I always leave learning a little bit more about our world!

“‘Drago Fuoc.” I breathe my people’s fear out in a shudder. “Different clans have different names for it, but this is ours. It’s our Romani name for the love fire.'”

“‘What you call ‘love fire’ I would call ‘heartbreak'”.

Here’s the difference between a Sunniva book and others. A good book sucks you into that fantasy world, making you a part of it instead of a spectator. An excellent book not only sucks you into the story and makes you a part of this experience, it also leaves you learning a thing or two and truly thinking about sociological issues with society.  Ms. Dee has taken this concept and upped it by 20 times. Her storylines are that good!!

Sunniva is not only a ‘thinking’ author with storylines to match, but her technical writing is on point. Throughout her books, she fully embraces her characters and their back story. She is completely thorough, and it shows that she has researched whatever character has as a job, beliefs or customs, both national and internationally. As a former percussionist, I appreciated reading about flam-taps to triplets to single and double paradiddles! It brings back my playing days and I fully drummed along with Troy and I could empathize with his need to drum along his thigh, table or chair. That was me too. It still is. Y’all should see me driving while drumming my fingers.

Now, without a doubt, hands down, do yourself a favor and pick up any of Sunniva Dee’s books, especially ‘Seven Minutes ‘till Midnight’. She will leave you aching, blown away and yearning for more. Sunniva is a Mistress of Words and a genius with her writing. She is a profound, technical professional in assembling these thoughts, concept and beliefs into an extraordinarily well-read book.

Regretfully Yours by Sunniva Dee–Review

I am so in awe of this author and the outstanding work of art she created, I am honestly having a hard time getting started with this. I have a million thoughts zooming through my brain, I can’t grasp just one, so I’m just going to start.

Sunniva Dee is the ‘Queen’ of the unconventional! She has mastered the taboo and has made it ok, while you might be thinking ‘oh no’ or ‘no way’. She writes with such fluidity and makes every single word of hers count for something. Her books are more than ‘just reading’, they are thought provoking through her purposely placed analogies. With Regretfully Yours, Sunniva SLAYED it, just absolutely SLAYED it! Her official name should be, Sunniva ‘Slayed it’ Dee.

Regretfully Yours is about Gioele and Salvina. Gioele is the younger brother to Isaias from, ‘Indirections of a God’. Their father is Il Lince, the mafia boss of the Nascimbeni family. After his older brother abdicated from the mafia, this makes Gioele the next heir to his crime family. Oh yeah, did I mention that Isaias runs a very prominent adult entertainment company? Well, he does and one day while the brothers are fighting, Gioele exclaimed in anger that he was going to audition for the rival company, Harmony Femme. After all, he is currently studying law, but is bored with it and wants to make his own way. No matter what, though, there is one person that always brings him comfort, Salvina.

Salvina is a 21-year-old biology major, trying to make a name for herself, away from her family. Sounds like any other typical college student correct? Well, let me tell you something. Salvina’s father is Cosmio. Cosmio has a brother named Evodio. (still nothing??) Ok, how about this. Evodio is otherwise known as, Il Lince. Did you make the connection yet? Yep, Gioele and Salvina are cousins. (gasp, right) They are very close in age and have grown up together, playing innocently among other things. Currently, Salvina had moved away from her home to San Francisco to avoid temptation (otherwise known as, Gioele). Gioele couldn’t handle being apart from his heart, so he moved right along with her. The family had preached to them, the virtues of not being able to love each other more than a familial sense. So, Gioele has been resolved to stolen hugs and being OVERLY protective of her.

‘She’s been saying the same thing for weeks now: “Gioele, per favore. Since we can’t be together, let’s live our lives. We need to find our person in other places. We just have to look a bit wider–there are awesome people out there for us.”‘

‘I love her. There’s no one in the entire damn world like her.’

There is SO MUCH content to this story, that it is hard to reduce it to a few paragraphs. Let me just say that, Regretfully Yours, is beautiful, innocent perfection written in its finest form.  It is salaciously and wickedly good! The twists and turns will make you gasp, laugh and cry. There is an ending that you will not see coming, but will finally allow you to breathe again. You will be hit hard, torn up, chewed up, spit out and finally stitched back together, only to want more. Seriously, do yourself a favor and check this and any of Sunniva’s books. You won’t be sorry!

‘”You’re mine, now. You know?” Celestially blue, his gaze floats to my face and rests there. “Say it.” “I’m yours.” Regretfully yours.’

I’m not a saint. That’s not why I left the mafia.

I left because I’m god, because I need no one, and fail at nothing.I’m Isaias Di Nascimbeni, owner of Lucid, the biggest adult entertainment studio in L.A. Son of Il Lince and second generation Italian in the U.S, I’m dirty rich and adored by highlife as well as lowlife.

Whatever I focus on turns to gold.

On the Richter’s scale of eye candy, I’m a twenty.

I’m a hunter who tests limits.

A warrior who goes shady when the law becomes dreary.

While conducting business at the St. Tatiana,

the most stunning woman I’ve ever seen enters my radar.

Isn’t it interesting that her name is Tatiana?

Isn’t it bizarre that she’s a nun?

Isn’t it wild that she’s unimpressed by me?

Isn’t it fucking insane that I can’t get her out of my head?

She doesn’t acknowledge me when I return to her church.

It’s unprecedented. Unheard of. Not happening.

But the hunt is my fetish.

Novice or not, she’s only postponing the inevitable.

Beautiful Tatiana asked for this.

By the time I’m done, she’ll worship me, because now
it’s game on.

A no-cliffhanger, standalone book #3 in the Porn Star Boyfriend series.

“Isaias.” Tatiana’s fingers brush down my temple and my cheek to my mouth. “I need to leave for about an hour. I didn’t want you to worry.”I blink off my sleep. I’m on the couch in the living room, waiting for my phone to ring with news about Gabriela.

“I can’t let you leave, baby.” I arch my head backward, following the sound of her voice. Her pretty face hovers over me from behind. I reach up, pull her down to me. She sinks to her knees and cradles my face with her hands.

Tatiana allows me to devour her mouth. My tongue delves in, swiping and suckling her into a moan. It’s heart-battering. I breathe faster, and then her exhales become shallow too. I love that sound.

“It’s not safe out there for you.” I lace my fingers into her hair, extending it around our faces. We’re in a tent of silk and warm sugar. “I’d never hold you back if it weren’t for your safety. Because you need to live on. On and on and on with that crazy beauty you are.”

She puffs a quiet laugh against me. “Weirdo.”

“I want you,” I sigh out.

“Tonight, darling. I just need to do this, okay?”

I still her face over me. Nudge it away enough to stare into her eyes. “I’ll come with you.”

“You can’t. It’s nun business.”

“You still think of nuns?”

“My business with the sisterhood doesn’t simply disappear because of an explosion in a church,” she whispers to me.

“Let me at least drive you there.”

I shut my eyes while her soft fingers draw trails down my cheeks. In my adult life, I’ve been touched often and in many ways, but Tatiana’s caresses remain on my skin long after they’re gone.

“Isaias, I’m twenty-seven years old. I’ve been fending for myself for a long time. I’ll be fine, okay?”

I scrunch my eyes shut, knowing I won’t be forcing myself on this stubborn, beautiful, independent woman tonight.

“I’ll be honest with you. I can’t bear the thought of you and Gabriela both out there without my protection.” I pull her down so I can kiss the infinitely soft skin of her throat. “Just let me drive you there. I won’t come in. I’ll, you know, play with my phone and listen to music like some dopy-ass high-school boyfriend until you come out.”

I grew up surrounded by women. I grew up surrounded by macho men too, but they all knew when to yield to their women. It’s why my father’s heart still beats for my mother. It’s why hers stutters every time he’s in danger.

So I let Tatiana go. I stand there on the gravel, hands fisted in my pockets like a douche. At least she accepted my offer of taking the Escalade with the bulletproof windows. She better get used to that, because she’s with Isaias di Nascimbeni. From now on, I’ll make damn sure she never drives anything that can’t repel the bullets of my father’s enemies.

“Fritz,” I shout as soon as she rolls toward the highway. “Get in.”

“Uhm?”

I walk up to him and point toward another loaner. It’s a joke of a car. Small and grey, it’s unassuming enough to blend in anywhere. I chuck him the key.

“I hold you personally responsible for Tatiana’s wellbeing until she’s back in my arms. Understood?”

“Absolutely, sir. It’s an honor.”

I pitch him my Glock too, and I don’t fucking care how unprecedented that is. He grabs it on reflex, gaze humbled as it meets mine. “Mr. Nascimbeni. I’ve got it. I have my sub.”

I stare him down, willing him to tell me it’ll be enough. Because is it? His stare dims with determination. Then he tosses my gun back. I watch it swirl in the air and find my palm in seconds.

“You’re sure?” My voice doesn’t sound right.

“I am.”

I squint, forcing liquid away from my eyes.

“I will get your woman back to you.”

Ah.

Twin Savage (Porn Star Boyfriends, #2)Twin Savage by Sunniva Dee

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Genius! Mother Crunkin Genius! (mic drop) 😉 Review to follow after I let this digest a bit. OMG, favorite book, so far!

UPDATED REVIEW:
Sunniva Dee is brilliant when it comes to writing a book. Her hugely effective use of hidden meaning, double meaning and writing parallels is flipping fantastic! After reading Twin Savage, she is definitely one of my instant and do not hesitate one click authors!

Twin Savage is written so well that you lose sight of the fact that it is part of the ‘Porn Star Boyfriend’ series. It is SO much more than a guy being a porn star. She writes these characters with so much depth, so much emotion that you honestly feel as if you’re part of the group and storyline. It just sucks you in (on such a good way). There was no ‘fluff’ in this porn star book (pardon the pun.)

Her symbolism and ability to switch between colloquial and educated verbiage is utterly outstanding! Besides reading a fantastic book, I learned a thing or two. Kudos to Miss Dee for doing her research on topics and characters discussed.

I think in modern day western culture it is considered taboo to talk about one girl with seven guys, but this is written so well that you can slip into Geneva’s shoes as she explores other cultures and customs related to grief.

Geneva is an anthropology PhD student who had big plans to travel to Africa and the Amazon with her fiancee, Julian. Unfortunately, she finds herself a widow before they even get to the alter. For the past six years, she has lived at ‘the Queen’ with Julian and seven other guys (all as scrumptious and delicious as the next). One of the roommates is Julian’s twin brother, Luka.

Luka is a medical student who is about to enter his last semester before residency. In order to get through med school without loans, he is in fact a porn star god. However, there is so much behind his pretty exterior that you truly must read the book to see what makes him tick and why he does what he does. When I found out, it made him so much more real and freaking human. (Insert sigh).

Geneva and Luka are truly just incredible together. It’s amazing to read about the full transformation of a relationship and to be able to see parallels within your own life or something you might have read (I.e. how a relationship should work versus how they do work). There are ups and downs, misunderstandings, conflict, among other issues.

Twin Savage is a scintillating, hot and sexy, angsty romantic comedic drama. PLEASE do yourselves a favor and one-click this book. It is utterly fantastic!

“I love you, Geneva. You love me. So why wouldn’t it be us?”
“It should be us, right?”
“I think it has to be us.”
